what is action kids?

Our goal in Action Kids is that through our age appropriate teaching, worship, activities and small groups your kids will fall in love with Jesus and develop their own personal relationship with Him. Each week our goal is that kids would leave knowing that: God loves them, we believe in them, and church is fun!

The safety of all children in Action Kids is our number one priority. In addition to a secure check-in process, every A-Teamer and Staff Member undergoes a background check and thorough orientation process prior to serving.

We work together with parents to help teach their children our core values. Our goal is to partner with families by giving them resources to spark conversation that will help develop future leaders and disciples of Jesus.

We encourage A-Teamers to serve the same service in the same classroom on a consistent basis. This helps to create an environment that will allow you to develop deeper relationships with children and fellow team members. At Action Church, we believe that true life change happens in the context of relationships.

Teaching children the love of Jesus in a safe and secure environment is our primary focus, but you can also expect to see and hear a lot of worship, games, and laughing! It is a big win for us when children leave Action Kids asking their parents when they can come back.

What to Expect?

When you arrive, look for our Kids Check-In areas. You'll be greeted by one of our friendly Action Kids Check-In leaders who is excited to meet your family and show you around our kids environment. We'll be with you every step of the way, all the way to your child's room.

On your first visit, you'll receive a key tag that is specific to your family. The next time you join us, you can use that key tag to check in at one of our self check-in stations.

Upon checking in, you and your child will receive matching ID tags specific to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion and you will need to keep the matching tag. After service, you will show the Action Kids leader your matching tag in order for your child to be released from his/her room. If you lose your ID tag, you will be required to show your drivers license in its place.

In the event that we may need to contact you during the service, we will text you from the number provided at check-in. We ask that you immediately find an Action Kids staff member or leader who will direct you to your child's room.

Six weeks - Kindergarten

In our preschool rooms, children will learn through age-appropriate teaching, activities, worship, and small groups to reinforce Biblical truths.

First - Fifth Grade

Our Kids Theater services are design to present the love of Jesus to elementary kids in a way that is excited, engaging, and practical. Every week they play games, experience worship, work on a Bible verse, and learn through live and video teaching. They also receive prayer and make friends in our small group time. We also send home a take-home sheet, which you can work talk as a family throughout the week.

There's no babysitting here at Action Church. We believe in praying and teaching God's Word with every child. We use Orange (First Look, 252 Kids) curriculum every weekend to teach your children about who God is and how much He loves them. Every week, through themed series your children will learn a Biblical truths, memory verses, and practical ways to apply them to your life.

Baby Dedication

Throughout the New Testament, the Bible talks about baptism as an outward expression of an inner decision made to follow Jesus. In the Bible, we see that Jesus' parents dedicated Him to the Lord (Luke 2:22-40), then He was later baptized as an adult (Matthew 3:16-17).

No one has greater potential to impact a child’s spiritual development than their parents. Proverbs 22:6 says: “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

At Action Church, the dedication ceremony is intended to be a commitment between parents and God on behalf of their child. Parents are promising to raise their children in the faith until they are old enough to make their own personal decision to follow Christ.

Water Baptism

We are excited that you are considering baptism for your child. Our hope is that through Action Kids your child will discover who Jesus is and develop a personal relationship with Him.

We advise parents to wait until their child is asking to be water baptized. This is usually a good indicator that they are ready and understand the significance of this spiritual milestone. While children under the age of seven can have a relationship with Jesus, they will not necessarily remember or understand the significance of water baptism, so we encourage parents to wait for baptisms until they are a little older.

As you are having conversations with your child or gauging if they are ready to be water baptized, we encourage you to use this guide as a discussion starter.

Orange Curriculum

Orange has created online resources and an app for your phone or tablet just for you. On their site, you can find the Bible story video we taught as well as questions and other activities to further discuss what we are teaching through the monthly series.

Nursing Mother's Room

This area is specifically designed for mothers with newborns to enjoy a weekend service in a private environment where they can feed, change, or care for their baby. The service is piped in or streamed live just for you. Ask one of our ushers or A-Team members and they will help direct you to our Nursing Mother's Room.
