Uganda Trip

Kampala, Uganda

October 16-27 2017

About the Ministries we will be serving:
In Uganda we will be serving with two local organizations, She is More Than and Mercy Childcare Ministry. She is More Than is a locally run organization founded by one of our Action members A.C. Black. She is More Than exists to restore the lives of young women who have undergone injustices such as sex trafficking, child prostitution, and sexual abuse. Mercy Childcare is dedicated to taking care of at-risk children in Uganda and restoring the broken unit. Mercy runs a children's home for street children and aims to empower their families to bring healing to the family as a whole. Both She is More Than Uganda & Mercy Childcare work through a Ugandan local church called Light the World Church. Please visit the links to learn more about these organizations.

How we will be serving these Ministries:
We will be serving She is More Than by working with new survivors that have just joined the SIMT program, helping with building projects, assisting in slum outreaches, and visiting current sponsor children in the SIMT prevention of trafficking program.

We will be serving Mercy by serving in the babies home, leading medical outreaches in the slum areas, farming, sharing the gospel in various locations, and helping with building projects.

LA Dream Center

Los Angeles, CA

March 19-23

About the Ministries we will be serving:The Dream Center’s purpose is to reconnect isolated people to God and a community of support by providing human services that address immediate and long-term needs in the areas of homelessness, hunger, poverty, addiction, education, and human trafficking. They are building a community of resilient people whose lives have been redeemed by God’s love. The lives they change are not merely examples of God’s power to restore broken lives. The men, women and families they help also go on to share that love with others, to pass on the hope they have been given, and to make transformation possible for others. While there we will participate in both morning and afternoon outreaches coordinated by the Dream Center.

Guatemala Student Trip

DATES: June 18-25, 2018

COST: $1,750

About the ministry we will be serving:

Herencia Viva Foundation - (Heritage Living Foundation or LHF) is an organization directly involved with helping alleviate some of the stresses of poverty by providing funding and an education for the less fortunate. This project will allow students to serve the community through building, teaching, and engaging with the kids, who are part of a newly constructed school that supports 100 children. Started just this year, one classroom has already been built and we hope to build another while we’re there. The classrooms currently have dirt oors and open windows without panes, so there’s plenty of work to be done! This trip will provide an amazing opportunity for your student to get a true hands on experience serving those in tremendous need, who are less fortunate than themselves.
